Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani opened the 'From Qatar 2023' exhibition, on Friday.

Organised by the Qatar Fine Arts Society at its headquarters in the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in Building No. 13, theexhibition includes plastic works from 72 Qatari and resident artists, belonging to various schools, trends, and classical and contemporary expressive styles.

It has also brought together creators belonging to the various generations of the plastic arts movement, from the generation of pioneers, the middle, and the youth, who were inspired by the issues of the homeland, society, and humanity, and expressed them in different artistic ways.

Visual artist and photographer Modhi Al-Hajri noted that the 'From Qatar 2023'exhibition is accompanying the occasion of National Day, and the participation of a group of Qatari and resident creatives, which made the exhibition characterized by diversity in topics, techniques, styles, and colours. She said her painting was inspired by traditional bearings, through a style that combines plastic arts and aesthetics of photography, and presented a treatment that belongs to the influential style of depicting near and far and merging the past with the present.

Artist Ibrahim Khalfan pointed out that his painting touched on the educational role of parents in preparing future generations and transmitting the love of the homeland from generation to generation, so he called it 'The Will'.

His work uses the collage technique and oil colours on canvas. It brings together an elderly man and his grandson, as he advises him and explains to him the achievements of the people of Qatar in the past and present, and lists to him the features of Qatar’s renaissance in various fields, and their ability to build, develop, and overcome obstacles and difficulties.

For his part, Artist Issa Al-Mulla said his painting was on the issue of protecting and preserving the environment. He said he used the method of recycling wood and old objects and turning them into materials. The artistic painting reflects the artist’s special relationship with his social and environmental surroundings and enhances his role in preserving and protecting nature.
