Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani inaugurated Qatar's pavilion at the 24th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)
The forum began in the Russian port city on Wednesday and will go on until June 5. The inauguration ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Transport and Communication Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad Sherida Al Kaabi.
HE Abdulrahman Al Thani said in a speech to mark the occasion that the State of Qatar's strong participation in the conference was a result of its understanding of the importance of bilateral cooperation with the Russian Federation, noting that it has seen marked development in recent years in the political, economic, commercial, investment, cultural, and sports field.
His Excellency added that Qatar was confident in the strength of the Russian economy, and looks forward to strengthening cooperation and increasing bilateral trade volume.
The participation of the State of Qatar in the forum aims to shed light on the Qatari economy and its leading position at the regional and international levels. Then to introduce the attractive investment environment that the State of Qatar provides to businessmen and investors from all over the world, in addition to reviewing the most prominent incentives, advantages and initiatives launched in order to support the private sector.
Following the inauguration, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak toured the Qatari pavilion and was presented with the most prominent Qatari developmental landmarks, in addition to getting to know the biggest projects in the country.
