The sixth edition of Merwad Exhibition was inaugurated on October 1 at Qatar National Convention Centre.

The sixth edition of the Merwad Exhibition is seen as an “ideal hub” to launch and introduce women designers and entrepreneurs, said Qatar Chamber board member Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani, who inaugurated the event on Friday.
The six-day expo, which is sponsored by Qatar Chamber and organised by Vouge Event Company, will display products and designs of 135 prominent designers from Qatar alongside with designers from GCC countries, Lebanon, Turkey, and India.
The expo includes 150 booths presenting a variety of abayas, dresses, and women’s supplies and accessories.
Director of Vouge Event Company Tamader Al Marri attended the opening ceremony in the presence of leading businesswomen and entrepreneurs.
Al-Ahmadani toured the expo’s pavilions and got acquainted with the displayed items and designs which are being introduced by Qatari designers, along with some designers from the countries participating in the exhibition.
On this occasion, Al-Ahmadani said that the expo reflected the innovations of Qatari designers in the field of fashion and women’s supplies and highlighted the development of this feild, noting that the expo’s previous editions had presented a large variety of high-end Arab fashion and luxurious abayas, adding in this edition new innovations that indicate the development of this sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Vouge Event Company director Tamader al-Marri said the number of participating companies in this year's edition “affirms the expo’s development year after year.”
Al-Marri also extended her gratitude to Qatar Chamber and the Qatari Businesswomen Forum for sponsoring and supporting the expo, noting that this emphasises the “key role” played by the forum in supporting the Qatari woman and enhancing the role of businesswomen and entrepreneurs in the national economy.
