Qatar participates in Floriade Expo 2022 in Netherlands

Qatar is participating in the Floriade Expo 2022, currently taking place in the Netherlands until October 9. Qatar’s pavilion at the expo is under the theme of the Desert’s Nest.

Once every ten years, the Floriade Expo 2022 takes place for six months in the Netherlands. This year, the largest public event in the country is taking place in Almere, to the east of Amsterdam, with more than 400 participants from all over the world.

The theme of the international horticultural exhibition’s edition this year is “Growing Green Cities”. More than 40 countries will present their vision of an urban environment and their sustainable solutions and inventions from 14 April to 9 October 2022.

Qatar was represented at the opening of the expo by the Ambassador of Qatar to the Netherlands HE Nasser Ibrahim Allenqawi and Commissioner-General of the Qatari Pavilion Eng. Mohamed Al Khouri.

The pavilion was visited by Commissioner-General of the Floriade Expo 2022 Annemarie Jorritsma, CEO of the Expo Hans Bakker, Mayor of Almere Ank Bijleveld, and a number of prominent officials from the Dutch government.
