Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani met Thursday with HE Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Reza Farzin.
During the meeting, they discussed the existing bilateral relations between the two countries in the financial and banking field and ways to enhance them.
Farzin, who has led a diplomatic and banking delegation to Qatar, discussed with Sheikh Bandar the two countries' plan to sign a financial agreement, according to the report.
Bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar are moving in the direction of their goals, but the ties could be expanded further by signing a bilateral monetary agreement and participating in other multilateral agreements, said Farzin during the meeting.
Sheikh Bandar also urged boost of collaboration between the two countries' central banks as a means to expand bilateral ties.
