A Qatar Charity (QC) delegation will head to Lebanon as part of the ‘Qatar Relief Convoys’ organised by Qatar Charity within the framework of the ‘Warm Hearts’ winter campaign.
The delegation, headed by Yousef Fakhroo, CEO’s assistant for the Resources Development and Media sector at Qatar Charity, consists of officials from Qatar Charity, many social activists and social media influencers, in addition to donors.
The campaign aims to deliver urgent aid to Syrian refugees and underprivileged Lebanese families and contribute to meeting their winter needs by providing shelter kits, food items and fuel, as they are struggling to survive amidst the severe cold and low temperatures.
The team will distribute food packages and bags full of winter supplies to the refugees, Lebanese families and orphans in Arsal, Beqaa and Akkar of Lebanon, in addition to visiting some projects implemented by Qatar Charity in Lebanon.
Almost 250 ‘Qatar Relief Convoys’ target nearly half a million refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and underprivileged families in six countries namely Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan, Syria and Yemen.
The aid includes food packages and winter supplies such as warm clothes, blankets, mattresses, heaters and fuel, in addition to building infrastructure for the Akkar camp and restoring more than 200 tents.
Qatar Charity urges philanthropists in Qatar to donate and support these convoys to maximise the number of beneficiaries.
A benefactor can sponsor an entire convoy, either in his/her name or in the name of his/her beloved ones, with a sum of QR100,000 or can donate QR300 for a share.
People can contribute through Qatar Charity’s website, app, branches and collection points across the country, in addition to dialing 44667711 for donating.
