Qatari-Bahraini panel holds first meeting

The Qatari-Bahraini Follow-up Committee held its first meeting at the headquarters of the GCC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Monday.

Bahraini delegation to the meeting was headed by Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sheikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, while the Qatar’s delegation was headed by Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi.

The two sides affirmed that this step embodies the directives of the two states’ leaderships and their keenness to preserve the future and entity of the GCC.

During the meeting, they discussed the necessary procedures and mechanisms and ways to ensure the success of the bilateral talks to end the pending special files between the two countries, in accordance with what was included in the Al-Ula statement issued by the Al-Ula summit held in Saudi Arabia, and in a way that achieves the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries for security, stability and prosperity.
