Turkmenistan's embassy to the state was inaugurated today in Doha.Cutting the ribbon to announce the opening of the embassy were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow witnessed the signing of several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of the two countries, at the Amiri Diwan on Monday.
HH the Amir and the Turkmenistan president witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of disaster management between the governments of the two countries, an MoU for cooperation between the Public Prosecution Office of the State of Qatar and the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan, cooperation in the field of sports between the Ministry of Sports and Youth in the State of Qatar and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports in Turkmenistan for the years 2023-2024 and an MoU for cooperation in the field of youth between the governments of Qatar and Turkmenistan.
HH the Amir and HE President of Turkmenistan also witnessed the signing of an agreement to encourage and protect mutual investments between the governments of the two countries, and an MoU between the Ministry of Labor of of Qatar and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, in addition to an agreement on exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports and service between the two governments.
A number of ministers and ranking officials attended the signing ceremonies.
