Qatar Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari met with Minister of Health in the Afghan Caretaker Government Qalandar Ebad, in Doha on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and the public health issues and challenges facing the Afghan people, especially polio.
The Minister of Public Health praised the progress made in the health system in Afghanistan in cooperation with the relevant international bodies. She also said about the importance of continuing cooperation between international organisations and Afghanistan to develop the health system, especially services and human resources, throughout the country.
For his part, the Afghan health minister lauded Qatar’s important role in the development in his country, calling for continued support from all partners for the development of health services provided to the Afghan people. Representatives of WHO) Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) attended the meeting.
