Final phase of census to kick off on Dec 1

The final phase of the census’ field work will start from December 1, which was suspended as a precautionary measure against the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), according to official statement from The Planning and Statistics Authority.

The final phase of the census will run from Dec 1 to January 7 of 2021 electronically, with field work starting on Dec 13 to mid-January of 2021.

The PSA had concluded all the preparatory steps required for the census. The final phase would see census workers collect remaining data on the population, houses, and facilities. It would simultaneously allow heads of family to fill their data online securely and easily without the need to meet field researchers.

The authority was granted approval by the Ministry of Public Health to carry out the census. In that context, the authority reiterated its commitment to the precautionary measures taken to contain the corona virus during the final phase of the census.
