Karwa buses will start charging commuters for travel again from January 10 onwards.
Karwa was offering free rides to passengers after they restarted public bus service with 30 percent capacity as part of gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on public transit system on September 1.
“We would like to inform you that from January 10 onwards our services will be charged again as usual,” the public bus transport provider said in a notification on the Karwa Bus app.
Mowasalat said in the notification that the rechargeable Karwa Smartcard will still be valid and can be used as usual, but the Karwa Smartcards 24 hours limited and unlimited will not be sold through merchants or the bus drivers anymore.
“You can conveniently purchase the 24 hours unlimited QR Code Ticket through the Karwa Bus App,” the notification said.
