Qatar is among the top 10 countries in the world to live and work, and the number one in the Middle East, according to HSBC Expat Explorer Survey 2020.
It is also ranked sixth globally and is the only other Asian country besides Singapore to feature in the top 10. Singapore is ranked second in the index.
The HSBC Expat's Annual League Table of Best Places to Live and Work 2020, now in its 13th year, is designed to explore the attitudes, opinions and experiences of people living overseas.
HSBC said in its overview of Qatar: "Qatar may be one of the world’s smallest countries, but it is also the richest. Developing at breakneck speed, the country has steadily risen from the sands like a glittering behemoth and continues to attract foreign professionals from all walks of life."
Doha is a hive of commercial activity that is certainly making the world sit up and take notice, it added.
