Ministry of Interior sets grace period to seek exemption from or reduction in residency, visa fines.

Qatar Ministry of Interior has set a time limit for expatriates to seek exemption or reduction in fines stemming from violations of Qatar's residency, work visa and family visit rules.
The grace period is from October 10 to December 31, 2021. The “reconciliation” will be carried out under the provisions of Law No. 21 of 2015 regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, the Ministry of Interior said.
The requests can be submitted at the MOI’s Search and Follow-up Department or any of service centres in Umm Salal, Umm Sunaim (Formerly Industrial Area), Mesaimeer, Al Wakra or Al Rayyan from 1 pm to 6 pm.
It called on employers and expatriates to use of the grace period “for reconciliation to correct their legal status and avoid legal procedures against them for not legitimising their status”.
