Grace period to legalise status of those in violation of Qatar residency law extended.

The Ministry of Interior announces the extension of the grace period for legalizing the status of expatriates who violated the provisions of residency law until April 30, 2022. Law No. 21 of 2015 regulates the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence in the country.
This comes as part of the Ministry of Interior’s keenness to consider the interests of business owners and expatriate workers to benefit from the 50 percent reduction in the violation settlement amount.
Therefore, all violating expatriates or employers have to submit the settlement application to the Search and Follow-up Department and the violators willing to transfer from one employer to another shall submit their application at the Search and Follow-up Department or one of the services centres in Umm Salal, Al Rayyan, Mesaimeer, Al Wakra or Umm Senaim.
While the settlement applications for issuance and renewal of the residence permit under the existing employer shall be submitted at any one of the service centres in Al Shamal, Al Khor, Al Daayen, Umm Salal, The Pearl, Onaiza, Souq Waqif, Al Rayyan, Umm Senaim, Al Shahaniya, Mesaimeer, Al Wakra or Dukhan.
Categories that can benefit from this grace period
• Expatriates who violated the residency rules (companies)
• Expatriates who violated the work visa rules
• Violated Expatriates among domestic workers and the like.
• Expatriates who violated family residencies
The Ministry of Interior urges the employers and expatriates to adhere to this period to benefit from the settlement to legalize their status and avoid legal procedures against them for not legitimizing their status.
