MoI, Community College sign agreement to allow inmates of penal institutions to complete academic education.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Department of Penal and Correctional Institutions, signed a cooperation agreement with Community College of Qatar, regarding the admission of inmates to enrol in university education at the college, starting from the fall semester 2022.
The agreement was signed by Brig. General Mohammad Saud Al-Otaibi, Director of the Department, and Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, President of Community College of Qatar.
Under this agreement, inmates of penal institutions will have an opportunity to complete their academic education to obtain a diploma and a bachelor’s degree at Community College Qatar, and the opportunity to acquire skills and abilities and to qualify them scientifically at the university level. This will support them to challenge their circumstances and exploit their imprisonment period and integrate them into the educational environment.
Regarding this agreement, Brig. General Mohammad Saud Al-Otaibi, said that this partnership comes within the framework of the keenness of educational institutions in the state to take care of inmates so that they can return to society and benefit from their period of imprisonment, especially that the goals that has been achieved pushes everyone to exert more effort in order to reform and rehabilitate this category.
