The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has launched a new package of electronic services as part of its efforts towards digital transformation and automation of services. The move aims to achieve excellence in performance, speeding up transactions and simplifying procedures.
The ministry clarified that the new electronic services package that was launched includes four types:
• Submission of recruitment requests for temporary work visas
• Adding a government contract to the facility registry
• Service for submitting labour recruitment requests for government and semi-governmental
• A service for submitting labour recruitment requests for Qatar Financial Center companies.
The ministry's Digital Transformation Management Unit is working on developing, updating and offering nearly 80 electronic services and transactions during the coming period, as the transaction will be completed without the need to visit the ministry's building or service offices or submit paper documents.
Recruitment requests for government agencies will be approved automatically, if they meet the automation standards.
The Digital Transformation Management Unit relies on the agile methodology, as the first institution in Qatar to adopt it, which allows the ability to launch new services and updates on a monthly basis, which is a significant change in the average release period of approximately 6 to 8 weeks.
It will also reduce the expected steps from 6 to 3 steps as a maximum and reduce them to one step in the case of applying automatic approval.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Labour currently provides about 47 electronic services and transactions through its website https://www.mol.gov.qa/.
