Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said that Qatar seeks to support the parties of the talks on the revival of the nuclear accord to reach a fair agreement for all, taking into account the concerns of all parties.

In a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr Hossein Amir Abdollahian on Wednesday, the FM stated that his visit to Tehran comes amidst numerous regional challenges, pointing out that it is very critical to have constructive efforts from the part of all the neighbouring countries to have successful nuclear negotiations and regional dialogue.

He said that he had heard from the Iranian minister his country’s confirmation on the importance of all parties’ commitment to engage in nuclear agreement.

The FM stressed that Qatar supports and encourages the dialogue between Iran and the region’s countries which would evidently achieve positive results for the interest of the peoples in the region.

“We constantly work with the Iranian authorities to provide the facilitation and consider the ways of boosting trade and economic cooperation,” he added.

For his part, the Iranian FM welcomed the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and confirmed that they held constructive discussions on some of the bilateral relations and regional issues, indicating that it is essential to strengthen the regional mechanisms and launch a regional dialogue.

Iranian FM thanked Qatar for hosting the indirect tripartite talks in Doha for the revival of nuclear accord. He indicated that the discussions tackled some of the problems some Iranian merchants have been facing regarding long-term residency, and focused on providing facilities for their residency, to facilitate the transportation process and solving problems arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, expressing his country’s aspiration to work to reach best ties with Qatar in trade fields.
