Aprire Park came to life from 18 October as a vibrant and bustling Asian Night Market kicked-off. The first-ever DC Asian Night Market is being organized by Doha City Event Management & Services (DC Event), in cooperation with Italian company Innovative Hight-Tech Solutions.
The market is aimed at showcasing and celebrating Asian cuisines and products throughout a month to cater to families, foodies, residents, and communities in Qatar.
Taking place at the children’s Play Area of Aspire Park, the event also intends to promote the cultural exchange through food, products, and traditional activities between Asian, Qatari, and other expatriate communities in the country.
More than 30 restaurants are all lined up showcasing Asian cuisines that include Korean, Thai, Filipino, Indian, Pakistani and Arabic. In addition to that, some local specialty cafes, as well as outlets selling desserts like ice cream, yogurt, and the hugely popular bubble tea drinks will join the event. For the shoppers, the market will also host vendors offering a range of garments, cosmetics, toys, and kitchenware among others.
A street dance performance by talented students from Philippine International School-Qatar (PISQ) set the festive mood at the launch of the event. On weekends, the event highlights street dancing and cultural presentations of students from various Asian schools with performers garbed in colorful costumes and props to recreate the ambience of Asian festivals.
Among the performers in the coming days are students of HOPE Qatar Center for Differently Abled Children and Youth to Qatar, this year’s honorary guests.
There is also henna, face painting to a photo booth - there are so many amazing things to do to keep the whole family entertained. Additionally, there will be a free cupcake making for children aged five to 12 to be hosted by WASAHQ Culinary Arts.
The market is open every day from 5pm to 12 midnight until November 16. Entry to the market is free of charge.
