MOL takes part in launch of IOM for Gulf countries

Qatar Ministry of Labour took part in the launch of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Strategy for Gulf Countries for 2021-2024 on Thursday.

The ministry’s participation in the event reflects its desire to stress stronger cooperation with IOM and joint coordination with Gulf countries.

During his speech at the event, Mohammed Hassan Al Obaidli, assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour, affirmed Qatar’s eagerness to strengthen cooperation with IOM and support coordination and cooperation with Gulf countries, all countries, organizations, and stakeholders concerned with migration and migrant workers to achieve the goals of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration and implementation of the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development.

He emphasised the fruitful cooperation with the UN’s IOM mission in Qatar and the eagerness to support and develop it in light of the IOM Strategy for the Gulf Countries.
