Mahaseel shopping festival serves as a good marketing platform for local farms, which offer reasonable prices for their produce.
The festival also offers several entertainment and awareness activities for children and adults to enhance the experience of visitors and educate them on the best practices while shopping. The festival reflects the importance of greening and the culture of cultivating crops and plants in the society, besides finding more avenues for local fresh production. The activities will also include workshops on plantation, flower arrangement and essential agricultural knowledge.
The Mahaseel souq had seen remarkable success in previous editions by introducing different varieties of Qatari agricultural crops from fresh vegetables to flowers and ornamental plants, in addition to local farm products. Twenty-two Qatari farms and six major national companies participated in the previous edition.
Local fresh honey will be available in competitive prices ranging from QR300 to QR350 in addition to fresh milk, lamb, poultry and natural juices.
The festival is open from 9am to 9pm and the dates are yet to be finalized. Starting from January onwards, the Souq will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until the end of March 2020.
