Carrefour shines spotlight on local farmers as it celebrates 'Qatari Festival' encouraging customers to buy local products. The event promoted food items including fresh fruits, vegetables, beverages, and chilled products sourced from local Qatari producers and suppliers.
The first Qatari Festival is launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, and the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in 2020.
The festival reiterates Carrefour’s strong commitment to investing in the growth and prosperity of its industry, communities, and the local economy. By highlighting locally sourced produce, Carrefour Qatar is encouraging customers to become more aware of where their food comes, while providing them the opportunity to buy fresh high-quality products at the best possible value.
The festival went on to highlight and feature produce from prominent local farms, namely Safwa, Khodra, Mazzrati, QT farm, Nabati, QADCO, and Agrico.
Laurent Hausknecht, Country Manager of Carrefour Qatar commented on Carrefour’s ongoing commitment to creating value for its industry and economy by supporting local farming and the supply chain: “Through this campaign, Carrefour aims to celebrate the successes of Qatar's local products, which continue to grow in variety and quality, and enhance their presence in the market. As one of the region’s largest retailers, it is important that we form close partnerships with all local economic operators. By supporting farmers in Qatar and featuring more of their products, we are not only giving our customers the chance to buy the freshest ingredients but also encouraging them to support their local economy.”
