Honey and dates expo kicks off at Al Mazroua Square

The Agricultural Affairs Department of Ministry of Municipality opened honey and dates exhibition at Al Mazrouah Square on Thursday with the participation of 30 Qatari farms.

The seven-day event will run from 7am to 2pm daily until January 5, 2023.

Ahmed Salem Al Yafei, head of the Extension and Agricultural Services Department, said that 30 Qatari farms are participating in the honey event, stressing that among the objectives of the event is to encourage farms to expand their activities and beekeeping to produce honey, which contributes to their development and increase their financial return.

Speaking on the occasion, Youssef Khaled Al Khulaifi, director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality, said the event will contribute to introducing the quality of locally produced natural honey to the community.

He explained that the honey event will contribute to meeting the public and consumers’ demand and the increase in the rate of buying and selling of Qatari honey and dates, which will support the ministry’s efforts to advance the field of honey bees on Qatari farms within the national project for honey production.
