Qatar residents are becoming increasingly more yoga-conscious, resulting in a growing demand for a wider range of yoga activities across the board. In line with this, now you can encourage your kids to do yoga, and more movement-filled activities, in general.
Do you know... The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended yoga as a safe and potentially effective therapy for young ones who are coping with emotional, mental, physical or behavioural health conditions, and there’s a good reason for that.
Established in 2009, Yama Yoga is Qatar’s most well-known yoga studio. Their beginners class is the best way to dip your toe if you've never tried yoga before or are coming back from a long hiatus. For a more structured approach, try their six-week Intro to Yoga course. On Saturday mornings, Yama Yoga also offers a kids’ yoga course for children ages four to eight years. This coincides with an adult mixed-levels yoga class so mum and dad can practice as well.
If your little ones find yoga difficult at first, explain to them that, the more they practice, the more naturally the poses will come to them, and try joining them for a session.
