Al Duhail beat Al Gharafa to win Amir Cup

Al Duhail won the golden jubilee edition of HH the Amir Football Cup after a 5-1 victory over Al Gharafa on Friday evening at Khalifa International Stadium, one of the stadiums of the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup.

Edmilson Junior opened the scoring for Al Duhail in the 6th minute, while Michael Olunga added the second in the 18th minute. Al Duhail captain Almoez Ali netted the third goal for his side in the 52nd minute.

Ahmed Alaaeildin scored a goal for Al Gharafa in the 53rd minute but Al Duhail responded quickly via Ferjani Sassi in the 58th minute to make it 4-1. Abdelrhman Moustafa scored a wonderful goal in the 85th minute as Al Duhail sealed a 5-1 victory to win the 50th HH the Amir Cup.

His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Friday attended the final match.

The final was also attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, a number of heads of Arab and international sports associations, a number of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar, and football fans.

Following the conclusion of the match, HH the Amir handed the trophy and gold medals to Al Duhail team, and the silver medals to Al Gharafa team.
