The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) on Monday launched a manual for enhancing integrity and transparency in the sports field, at a ceremony held in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Olympic Committee, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and the Qatar Football Association.
The project aims to introduce Qatar’s achievements as part of the country’s broader international efforts to support regional and international peace and development, in the context of Qatar’s hosting of many major sports tournaments after the impressive hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
ACTA Chairman Hamad bin Nasser Al Misned and Secretary-General of the QOC Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain attended the launching ceremony.
Misned affirmed that the inauguration ceremony of the manual to enhancing integrity and transparency in the sports field coincides with the country’s National Sport Day (NSD), highlighting the State’s enormous efforts to promote the culture of sports.
The project is a practical reference that includes best practices and practical applications in preventing and combating sports corruption, Misned said. “This comes in accordance with the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s rational directives, which stress interest in sports, promotion of its practice and educating the local community of its importance in promoting sustainable human development. This is also an occasion to hail Qatar’s outstanding FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 hosting,” he added.
