Qatar has announced mandatory Covid-19 quarantine until further notice for all passengers arriving in the emirate. Such a decision was taken owing to spike in global Covid-19 infections.
A State Supreme Committee for handling crisis in the country revealed that the global virus infection rates continue to remain high, which has prompted this mandatory quarantine for all arrivals in Qatar.
The panel also said that the Health Ministry will shortly update the list of low-risk country.
The panel urged nationals and expats alike to adhere to the anti-virus precautionary measures, and mainly avoid gatherings.
Social gatherings are a main cause for spread of the novel coronavirus in Qatar, the Committee said.
Qatar has till date reported a total of 125,745 virus cases, with 214 related fatalities.
