The Money Exchange Service Offices in Qatar will reopen from 12th May with mandatory application of precautionary measures, it has been announced.
This is in continuation of the measures that the State of Qatar has taken to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and to meet the needs of public in a manner consistent with medical and preventive guidelines.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has decided to reopen money exchange service offices with mandatory application of precautionary measures, starting 12th May.
The procedures in place include visitors required to wear masks, follow social distancing, thermal screenings, and allowing entry of only minimum number of customers at a time.
This is in addition to all other preventive measures already being followed as specified by the Ministry of Public Health, provided, the working hours are limited to six hours a day for employees working in money exchange service offices, allowing overtime for two paid hours, so that the total of working hours do not exceed eight hours.
The Money Exchange offices should also take care to prevent crowding, providing instructions, guidelines, and the security personnel should assist customers to ensure social distancing norms are followed.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has asked money exchange service offices and the public to abide by the instructions, and the preventive measures that are in place, and added that legal measures would be taken against violators.
