Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended new bookings from the UAE for next seven days over concerns by the UK government. Rwanda and South Africa are also temporarily suspended.
However, GCC nationals and Resident Permit Holders returning to other GCC countries will be exempted from the new announcement, the airline said.
Britain has announced an outright travel ban on non-nationals arriving from the UAE and severe quarantine measures have been announced for those coming in from there to stem the coronavirus cases.
According to Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, UAE has been included in the ‘red list’ by the government, along with Burundi and Rwanda.
