03 June 2021

The Ministry of Public Health said that a small section of travellers arriving in Qatar may be subjected to random Covid-19 tests, which would be administered free of cost at the airport.

This forms part of comprehensive measures by Qatar to protect the health and safety of travellers and the community by the Public Health Ministry through its medical teams in Hamad International Airport, which is also conducting random Covid-19 tests on a small sample of travellers arriving into Qatar.

According to Ministry of Public Health, any traveller may be included to participate in the random testing.

The random testing sample is in addition to the mandatory pre-travel PCR test requirement.

In case you have been chosen to be part of the random sample, you may receive notification from the medical teams once you reach the terminal. The medical teams will then ask you to take PCR test.

The test is free of cost and will take only a few minutes, after which, you can freely continue your passage into Qatar, and your Ehteraz status will show green while the PCR test result is processed.

The PCR test result will be notified through SMS within 24 hours.

Travellers testing positive on the PCR test will be notified about the necessary actions to be taken.
