The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has revised its guidelines for international arrivals, and this includes exclusion of Covid19 RT PCR test for fully vaccinated travellers before boarding from 82 countries. This rule will get effective from 14th February.

According to latest guidelines, the passengers should upload their certificate of complete primary vaccination prior to scheduled travel on Air Suvidha portal.

This is one of the biggest relaxations for international arrivals in India after Covid.

Thermal screening will be done for all passengers, and those found symptomatic during the screening would be isolated and taken to medical facility as per health protocol. In case they test positive, their contacts would be identified and managed as per usual protocol, based on revised guidelines.

About 2 percent of the total passengers in flight will have to go through the random post-arrival testing at the airport upon arrival. Such travellers would be identified by the concerned airlines. They will have to submit samples, and then will be allowed to leave the airport.

In case such travellers happen to test positive, their samples would be further sent for genomic testing. They will be treated as per the standard protocol.
All travellers will have to self-monitor their health over next14 days upon arrival. During this period, if travellers develop any symptoms indicative of Covid, they will have to self-isolate immediately and report to nearest health facility or call the national helpline at 10575.

China and UAE are yet to appear on the list of 82 countries as of now;
