Passengers returning from Ukraine to India can travel via Qatar, the Indian Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia said, adding that special flights to the Eastern European nation will resume when it reopens airspace.

Passengers can travel from Ukraine to India through Doha under India’s bilateral air bubble deal with Qatar, announced the Indian Embassy, based on the information received from the civil aviation ministry.

“Government of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation has allowed passengers traveling from Ukraine to travel by transit under India-Qatar bilateral air bubble arrangement,” read the Twitter post by India.

At present the Ukraine airspace is closed for travel, following the ‘military offensive’ launched by Russia against its neighbour.

Meanwhile, Scindia said special flights for Ukraine will continue once Kyiv nation repones its airspace. Pointing out to the fact that while flights were flown to Ukraine until the present, he said that it was only after things began escalating that the flights returned. But, he confirmed that flights would resume once the airspace reopens.

Therefore, Scindia, speaking to the Indian Embassy in Kyiiv announced cancellation of all scheduled special flights to the Ukranian Capital after the country shut its airspace.
