Qatar among world’s 30 best destinations for tourists in 2022

Qatar has been chosen as one of the 30 best places in the world to visit in 2022, as quoted by the popular luxury travel magazine, ‘Conde Nast Traveller (CNT)’.

The list has been released by the CNT editors, which states that Qatar is all set to host the FIFA World Cup 2022, and it is gearing up with several hospitality and tourist options for travellers.

Qatar will host the milestone World Cup in several ways. It is the second FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Asia, the first ever to be held in the Arab World, and it is the first to be held outside the Western Summer and the last one to be held with 32 teams before the pool expands to 48 in 2026.

Qatar is all set with a series of luxury hotels and attractions, including ‘Qetaifan Island North’, the newest entertainment hub with an artificial salt lake and a major water park, the magazine said.

Qatar, being rich in art, culture and tradition, is a country that is waiting to be discovered. It has the world’s best hotel and restaurant brands, and have created an oasis of luxury in the heart of Middle East. Moreover, travellers get to immerse themselves in the destination, which is home to a wide range of five-star hotels and resorts, wellness centres, world-class spas, restaurants with Michelin-star chefs.

Qatar Tourism also has recently signed superyacht luxury cruises partnership with Swiss-based cruise company, ‘Emerald Cruises’. As per Qatar Tourism, the partnership will set its sail from Doha in January 2023.

Cruise Industry News website, quoting Betthold Trenkel says “In line with national strategy, Qatar National Vision 2030, we are expanding our tourism value proposition and are excited to welcome travellers from around the world to experience the best of Qatari hospitality both on sea and land. The new itineraries being launched with Emerald Cruises are another step towards achieving this vision.”

Construction continues on the new Grand Cruise Terminal adjacent to the Museum of Islamic Art and Souq Waqif along Doha Corniche. The terminal will have the capacity to host two megaships.

According to CNT editors, Bhimtal to Bhutan, Sikkim to Seoul, the list of most exciting places to visit this year are Indian destinations such as Bhimtal, Sikkim, Odisha, Goa, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Sindhudurg, apart from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Japan, USA, London, Indonesia, Italy, Singapore, London, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Serbia and Seoul in South Korea.
