American School of Doha

The American School of Doha (ASD) originally named the American International School (AIS) was established in 1988 by the U.S. Embassy and prominent members of the Qatari community. They opened the doors to Grades 1 through 5 in a small villa in Doha to meet the growing need of students in Doha. And, now 30 years later, ASD has become one of the premier American international schools in Middle East.

AIS earned accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NESAC) back in 1994. The cultural diversity and local community backgrounds is an exciting strength of the school, and the world-class facilities provide the best possible spaces for our committed teachers and coaches to inspire and educate students to become positive, active global citizens.

Music, art, Technology, physical education, theatre, library, classroom and common spaces all communicate a message that learning is the core purpose and highly valued at ASD. Their sports programs compete within Qatar Private Primary School Sports Association (QPPSSA), Qatar United English Speaking Schools (QUESS), and Middle East South Asia Conference (MESAC), as well as with local schools, universities and club teams in Doha.

With the support of the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees, the Leadership Team and the highly supportive parent community, ASD provides the comprehensive programs and education which are second to none in the region.
