Katara cultural Village is hosting a virtual exhibition that showcases work by Filipino artists, in a joint project by the Philippine embassy in Doha, Katara and Sentro-Rizal under the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA).
The exhibition, which will last until December 31, displays 30 paintings of Filipino artists in Qatar, through which they presented their creative perceptions of the different visual interpretations of the challenges faced by humanity during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as the various works envisioned the triumph of positive energy and human ability through unity and resilience.
The participating artists confirm that their work aims to encourage the public by sending positive messages, especially for those negatively affected. The paintings reflect topics related to the social bonds of the medical staff, the importance of resistance and strength, and their concern for the safety of their families and the return to their homeland.
“This exhibit is a humble tribute of the Philippine embassy to Qatar government in recognition of its important role and efforts in successfully managing the spread of the coronavirus in the country; and to all medical frontliners in Qatar for braving the odds to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in Qatar despite personal risks,” organisers said.
