CSGDB and SAP to boost public employee services

The Global IT Giant SAP and Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CSGDB) on Monday announced cooperation to launch a comprehensive transformation project in the human resources management system in the government sector in Qatar.

The project will benefit over 85,000 government employees with an increase in levels of communication and job interaction, in addition to helping in planning the employees’ career path.

The CSGDB will update and transfer the main functions of the human resources system to the cloud on the RISE with SAP platform, in addition to developing the ‘Mawared’ system services. The CSGDB will also support career path services for employees by adding new models to the SAP Success Factors platform to design a unified and integrated human resources system.

The CSGDB-SAP cooperation will cover three main sections: a centre for displaying innovations and the latest CSGDB achievements, an incubator for ideas for the two sides to cooperate on formulating new business models, a training centre and a lecture hall to host events, speakers and dialogue sessions.

SAP’s Executive Director in Qatar and rapid growth markets Alaa Jaber said the CSGDB had been partnering with SAP for over a decade to develop the Mawared system.

He pointed out that more comprehensive cloud solutions and innovations would be implemented to ensure an effective digital transformation process that supports human resources tasks efficiently and excellently.

He added that the solutions will provide a consistent interactive experience for candidates, employees, managers and HR professionals alike, while enabling accurate data collection and trend analysis for workforce planning.

The CSGDB and SAP have identified a number of areas to focus on, such as using the metaverse in training, exploring the AI benefits in HR system, identifying the most effective means of implementing localisation policies, launching a number of awards to honour new and exceptional ideas and organising conferences to encourage dialogue and cooperation on a number of issues related to human capital today.
