Qatar has been ranked as 8th best destination in the world for ‘Best Quality of Life for Expat Women’ category, as per the InterNations Expat Insider Report 2022. Qatar was ranked as the 26th best destination for expats in 2022.
Qatar has also been ranked fourth in the Health and Wellbeing sub-category of Quality of Life Index.
In another ranking, Qatar has been considered as 8th best in the Expat Essentials Index, wherein all Gulf States except Kuwait made it into the top 10.
The index surveyed 52 countries in four subcategories. In the Digital Life category, Qatar was ranked 17th, it was ranked 10th in Admin Topics, 24th in Housing and 4th in Language.
The InterNations’ Expat Insider 2022 survey released included responses from over 12000 people covering 177 nationalities and living in 181 countries / territories.
The survey measures expat satisfaction about the qualify of life, ease of working abroad, settling in, personal finance in their respective country of residence. It is for the first time that the survey included new Expat Essentials Index including digital life, housing, admin topics and language.
As per the survey, four out of five Gulf States were among the top 10 list for language, largely because it is easy to live there without any local language skills.
The AdminTopics subcategory includes ease of obtaining visa, opening a local bank account, and dealing with local bureaucracy.
Digital Life involves availability of government services online, cashless payment options, ease of high-speed internet access at home, and unrestricted online access.
In the housing subcategory, respondents covered affordability and availability of local housing.
Recently, Qatar topped the MENA countries for fourth year in a row, according to Global Peace Index Report for 2022. Qatar was ranked 23 globally among 163 countries in the report, making a progress by six places from the previous year.
