Al Maha Island, located in Lusail, adjacent to Place Vendome Mall, and linked to mainland through a causeway is likely to draw over 1.5million visitors annually.
The plans for the latest entertainment and leisure destination in Qatar was announced by Investment Holding Group (IHG). The project is in association with IHG subsidiary, Elegancia and IMG, in collaboration with Qatar Tourism Authority.
Doha Winter Wonderland
One of the major attractions at Al Maha is ‘Doha Winter Wonderland’. Spanning 93000sqm, the theme park will remain open from November to March every year. This is likely to be ready before the World Cup begins.
The park will host 50 amusement rides including 395 roller-coaster, 10 thrill rides, giant 150 ft Ferris Wheel, 25 family rides and 15 children’s rides.
Thrill seekers will be sent soaring to new heights by the Space Gun, Drop n Twist Tower and the Vertical Swing. There are Bumper Cars, The Galleon and Mini Disco that will help keep the adrenaline rush for the thrill-seekers.
For the young ones, there are Pony Adventure, Circus Swing and Air Balloon. The park will also include an ice rink, carnival games and kiosks that serve a wide range of food and beverage options.
Nammos Beach Club
Al Maha Island will include one of the most elite beach clubs and restaurants with irresistible dishes and electric ambience. The Mediterranean venue will have luxe modern interiors that draw inspiration from the Greek Party Island. Once open, Nammos will be the go-to destination for upscale beach dining.
High End District
This is another venue that is expected to draw visitors to the Al Maha Island. It is its high-end district with 6 of the best internationally acclaimed restaurants.
London’s ‘ZUMA’ brings flavour of the Far East to Qatar with its internationally admired style of Japanese cuisine. ZUMA offers a sophisticated cuisine philosophy that is influenced by Izakaya, the informal Japanese dining.
The ‘LPM’ restaurant is another global hit at Al Maha. The popular French restaurant is inspired by Mediterranean Cuisine.
The luxurious Levant restaurant, ‘Em Sherif’, represents an Oriental Mansion, offering fine-dining Lebanese authentic cuisine. The restaurant has several branches across the Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, and London.
Another popular lounge that offers luxury dining paired with nightlife is ‘Billionaire’, comprising a special show with wonderful entertainment, blending outstanding performances, and great food and service.
A Turkish taverna serving variety of Turkish delicacies and mezze, the restaurant is known for its upscale design which blends the authentic oriental with contemporary western.
International Music Festival
One of the main attractions on Al Mahal Island is the concert venue, a 7000seat concert area that hosts Global Music Festival, involving 34 live events annually. It is likely to draw major names at the regional and global level, including popular singers, DJs and comedians. Announcement to be made in August 2022.
